Enclosure Temperature Control

Miniaturization of electrical and electronic components allows designers to mount more equipment into compact spaces. The proximity of heat generating components produces higher internal temperatures and makes heat dissipation a critical concern.

Overheating causes electrical insulation to deteriorate and shortens the life of electrical and electronic components. As an approximation, a temperature rise of 18°F (10°C) inside an enclosure will reduce the service life of electronics by almost 50%.
